Prospective Students

The University of Science and Technology

The University of Science and Technology (UST) was established in 2003 by the government as a graduate school specializing in education and research in science and engineering. It has graduate programs at research institutions in Seoul, Suwon, Changwon, Ansan, Seongnam, and Daejeon in South Korea. It is now one of the leading universities in science and technology in Korea and plays a major role in leading national growth in the 21st century by creating a new driving force for growth.
By awarding credits as well as minimizing classroom lectures, UST courses allow students to gain experience in research fields and encourage students to obtain hands-on experience by actively participating in research. UST provides opportunities to participate in projects conducted by other institutions or private companies. UST also adopts lab rotation programs that enable students to gain relevant experience in various research fields. Students take liberal arts classes as prerequisites so that they can be well-grounded as leaders in their chosen research field and so that they are provided with insight into society in general.
KASI undertakes the UST program at the headquarters in Daejeon, and many students are working in various research fields to get their degrees by actively participating in current research activities. For more details, please contact Dr. Sang Chul Kim (sckim@kasi.re.kr)
